About the Blog

Since I was first introduced to backpacking, it has taken up more space in my brain than my day job. Combine that fixation with a camera and Wild Affinity came to life — a documentation of my love affair with the trail.

An incessant desire to explore wild spaces worldwide has fostered my personal mission: to build superb wilderness skills and confidence in the outdoors, and document its beauty. This space is a culmination of everything that I’ve learned and done while on that journey. I hope you’ll find something worthwhile.

About Jennica

Originally from Northern California, I’m an alumna of UC Santa Barbara and currently based in Brooklyn, New York. During the week, I work in sustainable finance. On the weekends, I warrior to the mountains.

Aside from hiking, I love electronic music, singing, running, culture travel, and food. I ran two marathons (Newport, RI & NYC) and over 1,000 miles in 2024. I’m re-learning how to ski after over a decade away from the sport, and I love learning new ways to spend time outside all year round.
